Physical Science 20 - Feb 23

Welcome back everyone.  Today I checked Assignments C12 and C13. We then learned how to predict whether or not a single replacement reaction will happen.  To do this, you need to have access to an activity series table, which I handed out today.  In order for an element to be replaced, it has to have be placed lower on the activity series that the element that is replacing it.  It that is not the case, then no reaction will occur.  Be careful to form compounds correctly making sure to balance your charges.  As well, make sure to balance your equations at the end if you have a reaction.

I assigned Assignment C14 at the end of class and I will check this tomorrow.  Tomorrow we will continue on and look at whether or not a double replacement reaction will complete.
