Science 90 - Sept 18 & 19

On Thursday, we finished looking at methods for how plants sexually reproduce.  This involved looking at the flower particularly and how it has evolved to allow for multiple means of pollination.  We then watched a video on the different tricks flowers have developed to aid pollination.  The video is linked in the course videos folder.  Students then spent the rest of class working on the assignment on slide 79.  We will take this assignment up on Monday.

On Friday, we did our first lab where students had a chance to look at the parts of a flower close up.  This involved dissecting a flower and examining the key structures under a microscope.  There was a small handout that students had to do.  This is also due on Monday.  We will being to look at the science of genetics on Monday and how that has played a role in who we are today.
