On Thursday, we started looking at how chemicals react and how to determine if a chemical reaction took place. I showed some demonstrations of the signs of a chemical reaction. We finished by reviewing how to balance chemical equations using coefficients and what changing coefficients does to an equation. I assigned Assignment C9 at the end of the class. On Friday, the sub should have taught you about how to change word equations into chemical equations with formulas. This is a simple extension from nomenclature, which we spent some time learning. The sub should have assigned Assignments C10 and C11 for students to work on this weekend.
On Monday we are going to look at the different types of chemical reactions. If students want to get a head start on this stuff, you can watch some videos in the course videos link. There are 6 videos in total all discussing the next concept.
