Physical Science 20 - Sept 9

Yesterday we learned how to name hydrated compounds as well as the rules for naming acids.  I assigned Assignment C5 and Assignment C6 which we went over today.  Today we got an introductory lesson into the naming conventions for organic chemistry.  There is quite a complicated set of rules that are involved with naming organic molecules.  However, similar to the other nomenclature that we have covered already, it just takes lost of practice to get used to these different rules.  We finished class with Assignment C7.  We will go over this tomorrow.
