Physical Science 20 - March 8

Today students wrote their quiz on the mole.  After the quiz, we learned how one more molar conversion - how to convert liters of a gas at STP (Standard Temperature and Pressure) to moles.  This involved using molar volume.  Molar volume (22.4 L/mol) means that at STP, 1 mole of all gases occupy the same amount of space.  We went through a couple of examples that outlined the process of doing these conversions.  This was covered on slides 36-41.  Students then spent the rest of the class working on Assignment C21.  We will go over this tomorrow and review everything we have covered so far on the mole.

The first exam date has also been set.  It will happen next Wednesday, March 16.  It will be on nomenclature, reactions and the mole.  Study all assignments that I have taken in and the quizzes we have done.
